| How we can help you to cope more usefully At JHCA, our work is informed within a Solution Oriented Approach. Working with the strengths and resources that individuals have already developed, even though they may not be fully aware of them, they are assisted to consider, to explore, and then to embrace more useful possibilities. Mindfulness is another important psychological tool we may use to reduce your stress, to increase your self-awareness, and to enhance your emotional intelligence. At JHCA we also use techniques drawn from the emerging work of Positive Psychology to help people to consider, then to develop, and then to experience positive wellbeing. Where appropriate, we may choose to use Hypnotherapy to help a person move rapidly towards their stated goals, or to deal more usefully with strong emotions attached to past events such as trauma. In summary, at JHCA we develop your sense of well being by improving your mental health. Our approach helps clients to cope with the pressures they experience, and we help them adjust more usefully to their circumstances as they are. Many of the people we see are doing the best they can to deal with their lives, but acknowledge they are struggling - we fondly refer to these clients as ‘the troubled well'.
